Avan Yu is a 22-year-old pianist, born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver. He has performed in recital and as soloist with orchestras on four continents and he came to national attention by winning first prize at the Canadian Chopin Competition at the age of seventeen. In 2008 he won Silver Medal at the 16th Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition. In Beaulieu he will play music by Chopin and Beethoven.

La Nova Singers, a group of some 10 ladies, all of whom study in La Nova Studios in Bournemouth under the direction of Michelle Nova, are recognized for their beauty of tone, harmonies and eclectic mix of repertoire, which includes Sacred, Opera and Operetta, Musicals, Classical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, G&S, and Popular Light music.

Pupils of various ages from the world famous school for exceptional young musicians perform at Beaulieu. These young musicians are all highly talented and will be seeking professional careers as performers. Their concerts are always delightful and their talent is hugely impressive. There will be solo and ensemble performances on stringed instruments and piano.

Stainer's well-loved Oratorio "The Crucifixion" is performed by professional soloists and organist and the audience is the Chorus. Noel Osborne is again conducting with Michael Noble at the organ. Scores are available for hire.

The Choral Scholars and Organ Scholar of King's College, Cambridge pay their annual visit to Beaulieu. Their well known format provides sacred music from the 15th to the twenty-first century, madrigals, folk songs and part songs and, in the second half of their programme, songs in close harmony, mostly arranged by present or past members of Collegium Regale.

The Guildhall School has an operatic and theatre group and it is this group that will be coming to perform at Beaulieu. Entry to the Guildhall is difficult and prestigious and the young artistes are invariably of a very high standard.
The first half of the concert will consist of solo and ensemble excerpts from Tschaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Rossini's Barber of Seville. The second half will be lighter, with excerpts from operetta, musical theatre and with a medley of dance numbers.

The Purcell School is one of the country's leading specialist music schools for strings, wood-wind, brass and piano. Recipient of the Mozart Gold Medal awarded by UNESCO for its outstanding contribution to arts education, it enjoys an international reputation for excellence.

Lara Omeroglu, this year's Young Musician of the Year is a sixteen year old student at the school.

The programme includes solo performances for french horn, piano, voice, cello and violin performing works by Franz Straus, Liszt, Armstrong Gibbs, Grieg, Gershwin, Debussy, Ligeti and Sarasate.

Glyndebourne soloists perform arias and ensembles from the Glyndebourne repertoire. The audience is invited to picnic in Church Meadow before or after the concert.

Tommy Andrews was the winner of the 2009 Music at Beaulieu Award. At 21 he is an outstanding jazz and classical saxophonist studying at the Guildhall School of Music. He has already had an exciting career performing on Radio 3, BBC2 and in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He enjoys playing in smaller jazz clubs around London.

Widely described as the leading British pianist of his generation, John Lill's career has spanned over fifty years and has taken him to over fifty countries, both as a recitalist and as a soloist with the world's greatest orchestras.

Dubbed "The Glyndebourne of the West", soprano Caroline Luard, Julie Dance contralto and pianist,and mezzo-soprano Valerie Wright, perform a huge variety of music from classical duets and ensembles to modern musical theatre.

Founded in 1960, Schola Cantorum is Oxford University’s longest running chamber choir of around thirty voices, most of whom are students at Oxford University studying a wide range of academic subjects including music.
Schola Cantorum gave a suberb concert at Boldre Church in September 2009 and if you were there don't miss this opportunity to hear them again and if you missed it come to Beaulieu.

The traditional Advent Sevice in the Abbey Church with the church choir and congregational hymns. The church will be candlelit and the congregation hold candles which are lit as the choir processes so that a wave of light travels down the church.

No tickets for this service but there will be a collection.

The award winning Highcliffe Junior Choir return to Beaulieu and give another concert of Christmas music and readings. Mince pies and mulled wine will be served during the interval.

This will be a tradional service of readings and carols with the Abbey Church Choir. No charge but a collection will be taken.
