Avan Yu is a 22-year-old pianist, born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver. He has performed in recital and as soloist with orchestras on four continents and he came to national attention by winning first prize at the Canadian Chopin Competition at the age of seventeen. In 2008 he won Silver Medal at the 16th Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition. In Beaulieu he will play music by Chopin and Beethoven.

The Choral Scholars and Organ Scholar of King's College, Cambridge pay their annual visit to Beaulieu. Their well known format provides sacred music from the 15th to the twenty-first century, madrigals, folk songs and part songs and, in the second half of their programme, songs in close harmony, mostly arranged by present or past members of Collegium Regale.

The Guildhall School has an operatic and theatre group and it is this group that will be coming to perform at Beaulieu. Entry to the Guildhall is difficult and prestigious and the young artistes are invariably of a very high standard. The first half of the concert will consist of solo and ensemble excerpts from Tschaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Rossini's Barber of Seville. The second half will be lighter, with excerpts from operetta, musical theatre and with a medley of dance numbers.

The Purcell School is one of the country's leading specialist music schools for strings, wood-wind, brass and piano. Recipient of the Mozart Gold Medal awarded by UNESCO for its outstanding contribution to arts education, it enjoys an international reputation for excellence.
Lara Omeroglu, this year's Young Musician of the Year is a sixteen year old student at the school.
The programme includes solo performances for french horn, piano, voice, cello and violin performing works by Franz Straus, Liszt, Armstrong Gibbs, Grieg, Gershwin, Debussy, Ligeti and Sarasate.
