Concert Programme 2012



After a successful 2011 season we have an exciting and varied programme for 2012 with many star attractions for which early booking is advised
Most of our performers at Beaulieu will have websites and so to discover more information Google their names.

Accompanied children under 16 are admitted free to all our concerts except Glyndebourne at Beaulieu and our Jazz concert.

The door opens at 6.15 pm for all our concerts

Seats for Glyndebourne and Jazz concerts are reserved when you book and are identified by row and seat number. The seat position reservation numbers will be on your ticket.

Any numbers on your ticket for all other concerts are purely for our own accounting system and are not seat position reservations.

If you want a good seat for these concerts, arrive early!

Chenyin Li Piano Trio book now

This very acomplished Chinese pianist revisits Beaulieu accompanied by two young British string players forming a piano trio. Their programme will include Haydn's A Major trio and Villa-Lobos first piano trio.

Yehudi Menuhin School book now

Students from the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School for young string players revisit Beaulieu. The school has a strong international flavour and pupils often became professional soloists.

Sing Stainers Crucifixion book now

Stainer's well-loved Oratorio "The Crucifixion" is performed by professional soloists and organist and the Chorus is sung by you, the audience. Noel Osborne is again conducting with Michael Noble at the organ. Scores are available for hire.

Performance begins at 7.00pm but all singers are asked to attend a brief rehearsal at 6.20pm.

A group of current choral scholars at Kings College Cambridge perform sacred choral works ending with lighter works and songs in close harmony.

Glyndebourne soloists perform arias and ensembles from the Glyndebourne repertoire. The audience is invited to picnic in Church Meadow before or after the concert.

A group of internationally recognised young soloists, chamber musicians and ochestra principals come to Beaulieu as an ensemble for flute, strings and piano. The programme will include Mozart's Flute Quartet, Weber's Flute Trio and Brahm's G Minor Piano Quintet.

Advent Service by Candlelight book now

The traditional Advent Service in the Abbey Church with the church choir and congregational hymns.

The church will be candlelit and the congregation hold candles which are lit as the choir processes so that a wave of light travels down the church.

No tickets or booking necessary for this for this service but there will be a collection.

The award winning Highcliffe Junior Choir return to Beaulieu and give another concert of Christmas music and readings. Mince pies and mulled wine will be served during the interval.

Service of Nine Lessons and Carols Abbey Choir book now

This will be a tradional service of readings and carols with the Abbey Church Choir. No charge but a collection will be taken.

Each year Music at Beaulieu also offers a competitive award (currently £3,000 and £1,000) to assist a musician in the New Forest in his or her musical career. Local organisations and benefactors sponsor many of our concerts - we could not operate without their kind generosity.
